Founded in Edinburgh in 2014 by architect Dugald Skene, DS Architecture was born from a passion for creating crafted, high-quality designs for extensions and new homes. Over the past decade, the practice has remained dedicated to this vision, transforming ideas into award-winning realities.

DS Architecture draws inspiration from the timeless design principles of mid-century modernist architecture, emphasising clean lines, functionality, and a harmonious connection between the old and the new. Dugald Skene

Dugald Skene studied architecture at Strathclyde University, before working within a series of practices in Glasgow and Edinburgh covering a wide spectrum of project types, from large public funded infrastructure projects to carefully crafted and sensitive projects within some of Scotland’s most notable buildings.

With a deep appreciation for mid-century modernism, Dugald draws upon its principles of simplicity, natural materials, and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. His work reflects a thoughtful blend of modernist design ethos with a sensitivity to Scotland’s traditional architectural heritage.
