This project sought to replace an existing, impractical and unsympathetic single storey extension at garden level to the rear of a handsome Edinburgh property with a modernist inspired bold and contemporary addition, using natural and robust materials such as stone and zinc to complement and enhance the existing building.
Increasing the footprint and better integrating the internal space to offer an open plan family kitchen, dining and living area, the extension engages more with the generous garden beyond.
